When you think of galley-style kitchens, you think small, compact and space-saving. It’s the preferred design of many professional chefs, because it optimizes space, storage and work surfaces. While this may be a galley-inspired design, it’s certainly not due to lack of floor space. In fact, there’s so much, a roving ladder is needed to take you around to all the floor-to-ceiling cabinets. There’s not one, but two islands and ample counter space in every nook and cranny. And just when you thought you’d seen it all, there’s a sliding door to a walk-in pantry. The chevron patterned ceiling adds another subtle design element to this exceptional kitchen, as do the rustic wood floors and stone walls.
I interviewed four local kitchen companies and felt James was the most thorough in our initial meeting and quote. That thoroughness continued through the entire renovation. Shawn Metzger is also very professional.
