Classic Kitchen Elements

Posted in Design Advice

There are various kitchen styles to choose from, and choosing the right design elements will determine that style. Come take a look as we walk you through elements that create a classic kitchen design.

One of the most common questions we are asked is, "How do you create a kitchen that won't go out of style?".

Follow along as we combine elements that stand the test of time for you and your family to enjoy. Let's start designing your class kitchen!

Bright, Simple, and Fresh.

In a nutshell, a classic kitchen could often be described as simple, white kitchen cabinets with a shaker-style door. A white kitchen provides a blank canvas that anyone can work with, and you can accent your hardware to create a classy ambience. White cabinets provide more freedom to be creative with accent colours, hardware, and décor.

Timeless Metals.

Hardware – the jewelry of your kitchen. Metals like brass, copper, and polished nickel can create a timeless feel to the kitchen design. Decide whether to match your hardware to your appliances to obtain a classic look or mix and match to create a more modern look.

Light Aesthetics, but Dark Contrasts.

Everyone loves a bright, airy kitchen, but this doesn't mean you need to completely avoid dark accents. Bring warmth to your kitchen through warm wood tones in your flooring or through dark light fixtures and appliances.

Neutral & Classic Details.

Your backsplash is like an accent wall, it is sure to be a standout feature! Countertops and backsplashes go hand in hand when it comes to matching their designs and materials to one another. If you want your countertop to have a marble look, you can also do the same with your backsplash, so everything flows with one another. If you want to break up a pattern, a terrific way to do this is to use a plain subway tile backsplash. A neutral color to match the rest of the kitchen like white or grey will add texture but will still create a classic look for the entire kitchen.

Simplistic Style.

Quiet essentials for a classic kitchen. Cabinets, lighting fixtures, doors, drawers, and décor should have the trait of being minimalistic. The colors should be natural light tones, and not too flashy. If this rule is followed, the flow of elements within a classic kitchen should come together quite nicely.

These elements of a kitchen should be harmonious with one another. We are excited to see these choices stand out in current and future projects to come!
