Looking Ahead to Hosting Again
As we celebrate a quiet Thanksgiving this year, let's make the most of this opportunity to plan ahead for the joys of hosting in our own homes again someday...
Joined The Chervin Family In:
Previous Industry Experience:
Working with other designers and people with new, fresh ideas, and attending KBIS every year
“If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right.” – Henry Ford
Current Personal Dream Design:
Changes every 6 months – right now, Calcutta matte marble countertop - grey veining with hints of rust or green colour, matte finish; brass finishes, hints of black (on glass doors), painted whites and either walnut or aqua green stain
Happy this fad is over:
Golden oak; glazed, painted French country look (feels heavy – I enjoy designing with those details, but the finished result isn’t my favourite)
Current Hobbies:
Softball, hockey with my boys, snowboarding, fishing at the cottage, walking with my wife and daughter and dog
Hobbies I'd Like To Resurface:
Working out at the gym, cross-fit, whatever my kids are enjoying
To Cook:
Lamb chops seared on the BBQ and grilled, lightly grilled asparagus, (paired with a glass of red wine)
Cooking Facts:
Won a prize one for cooking 5 cornish hens with mango and thyme in an outdoor dutch oven

After many, many months of planning, budgeting, designing, building, installing, promoting, and securing permits, the time has come - Chervin Kitchen & Bath Oakville is now officially open to the public! Special thanks to all the Chervin team for their diligent efforts in designing, engineering, ordering, handcrafting, and installing the many, many elements that go into creating an elaborate and inviting cabinetry showroom.
A few quick tips on how to create a hosting space that is entirely your own, including some inspiration from a few of our most creative clients.
When it comes to designing your kitchen, layout is one of the most important decisions you will make. You want to create a space that is functional for your lifestyle. A space that contributes to the flow of your work, rather than restrict it.
For years, our cupboards have been a place of hiding for all the things we do not want our guests to see. Those days are over! With the proper styling, contents, and colours, open shelving can not only be a statement maker in your most used space, but it can also be functional.
As 2021 marks 30-years that Chervin has been in business, join Kevin Bauman (President & CEO of the Chervin Group of Companies) as he reflects on where we have come from and what our goals are as we look to the future!
Gone are the days of "dark and dismal." Black, dark greys, and rich walnut stains are taking over our shop as clients seek out fresh ways of creating cozy and relaxing, but statement-making, spaces in their homes.
