SCULPTURAL MARBLE & WARM OAK IN A TIMELESS CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN

Project Village balances contemporary design with enduring elegance. Anchored by dramatic marble and softened by warm wood tones, the space is both bold and inviting. Smokey taupe cabinetry wraps the perimeter, while a statement white oak island introduces warmth and sculptural presence. The result is a kitchen that feels timeless yet expressive, where materiality takes center stage and every detail is intentionally refined.

Project Village Kitchen Design Details

The Details

The layout is anchored by a large white oak island, softly shaped with curved corners and finished in a custom warm stain that enhances the natural grain. Its front features three-step reeded doors, adding depth and rhythm to the space. The surrounding cabinetry in a smoky taupe tone provides a grounded backdrop, while the range wall becomes a true focal point, framed by a custom white range hood with a subtle curve and a full-height marble backsplash with bold, continuous veining. The marble shelves integrated into the backsplash adds both function and refinement.

Cabinetry detailing is elevated through a thoughtful mix of door styles: upper drawers are fluted and finished with brass handles, while the lower two-step shaker drawers continue seamlessly across adjacent cabinetry without hardware for a clean, uninterrupted rhythm. Full-height cabinetry, including the panelled fridge, features the same two-step shaker profile with long brass pulls, with fluting subtly carried into the fridge top panel for added continuity. For a refined, minimal finish, Bocci outlets are integrated into both island and backsplash surfaces, preserving the purity of the material expression.

The Materials

A curated palette of high-impact materials defines the space. The perimeter cabinetry is finished in a smoky taupe tone, contrasted by the island in flat sawn white oak with a custom warm stain that highlights its organic grain. Marble is a defining feature, selected for its bold black and warm veining, it is used across the island, countertops, and full-height backsplash to create a continuous visual statement. The island features a 2" thick marble top with a bullnose edge, while the range wall is elevated with a thicker 4" profile to showcase the depth and drama of the stone.

Brass hardware is used selectively to elevate key touchpoints, while fluted and shaker profiles create depth and rhythm across cabinetry. Together, wood, stone, and subtle metallic accents form a cohesive composition that is both contemporary in feel and timeless in execution.
